The project will be designed to give the Data Analyst the opportunity to demonstrate the KSBs mapped to the assessment method within their day-to-day work and may cover the following project ideas to enable them to demonstrate competence.It’s no hyperbole to say that modern society runs on data. The work-based project should be designed to ensure that the apprentice’s work meets the needs of the business, is relevant to their role and allows the relevant KSBs to be demonstrated for the EPA. The EPA Project which will be compiled after the apprentice has gone through the Gateway. The overall aim of this module will be to prepare for the End Point Assessment (EPA) by sourcing and agreeing project idea/topic with your company supported by the academic staff at Solent University. A number of different technologies and processes will be used including: Types of Data, Data collection and Processing, Legal and Ethical Issues, The Quantitative Measurement and Probability, Data Visualisation, Cluster Analysis, Regression Analysis, Trendlines Analysis and Decision Analysis. The module covers data life cycle process, collecting, cleaning, processing, analysis and interpretation. In doing so, you will use basic numerical and statistical techniques, languages, and tools. You will also look at the information requirements of organisations and explore how to model, analyse and present the data to meet those requirements. ![]() The purpose of this module is to provide you with a fundamental understanding of core principles of data including understanding the different types of data, data quality, lifecycle and architecture along with an overview of the main legislation, security and ethics when collecting, storing and processing data. Throughout your studies you will have the opportunity to use our modern ICT labs featuring a full range of technology and software packages.
